Treasure What You Have

Some of you may know that I'm been religiously trying to stay smoke free and I'm proud to say, I'm very much nicotine free by now. Then again, you only need 48 hours to eradicate all nicotine from your body so it's long gone by now.

In the pantry today, i blatantly eavesdropped - These two guys, who work on the same floor as myself (My office is in a serviced office so we share the pantry and reception. Similar to the serviced apartment concept where there's someone who comes in to clean the place every morning) were talking about this miraculous book. Some guy actually read the book and once he put it down, he stopped smoking completely. Unable to resist an interesting conversation, i joined in and told them about my feat.

The controversy surrounding this book, which i presume, is huge in the States. The US government refused to sponsor this book - *Think - Repercussion of reduced income from tax, that's why!

"Square Shoulders" would be getting the book and will get the title from him when he does. Right now, i don't have a clue to the title of the book and if you do, tag me.

For me, I think it all boils down to what you really want. You will need to realise certain things yourself and decide when you want to do it. The world can do all sorts of things to you, if you do not have the mental mindset to do it, you will never achieve anything close. Once you've decided to do it, mind of matter is definitely the greater power.

Please allow me to digress on topic - would like to elaborate on mind over matter and importance of protecting your body (in a vain attempt to reconcile with the main topic). As much as we would like to believe otherwise, our body does have a limit. Teen triathlete from RJC died after a race. He beat his personal time, was quicker than the qualifying time but came in third. This was the qualifying race for the SEA games and 2 men and 2 women would be selected. I have no idea if he qualified, whether he's the 3rd man or 3rd person, possibly the 1st or 2nd man but i reckon if he didn't, he would have died from disappointed coupled with the exhaustion.

There's a Chinese saying - We owe our body, skin & hair to our parents who has given us life. Treasure it. You owe it to yourself. Only you are capable of taking care of your own body.
